Kosher caterer Carole Sobell Events Ltd went bust owing more than £500,000 to 23 companies, according to a list of creditors obtained by the JC this week.

The liquidated company — formerly run by Jewish businesswoman Carole Sobell — has racked up debts totalling £543,634.50, including £50,000 to the United Synagogue Kashrut Board.

Creditors are owed sums ranging from £115 to £290,000, with the largest amount owed to businessman Malcolm Brenner, who is director of a consulting company based in Elstree, Hertfordshire.

Carole Sobell Events Ltd — which ceased trading last month — owed around £165,000 to HM Revenue & Customs and £10,000 to kosher butcher M Lipowicz Butchers, based in Ealing, west London.
