The vice-chairman of the Jewish Labour Movement has been chosen by Labour to contest the seat with the second highest Jewish population in the country, Hendon.
Mike Katz announced his selection in a Twitter post today, which said “residents deserve an MP who’ll fight for local services and against a hard-right Brexit.”
He will be trying to defeat Conservative Matthew Offord, who won a 3,724 majority in the north-west London constituency in 2015.
Andrew Dismore, Labour member of the Greater London Assembly, last week ruled out a second attempt to recapture the seat he lost to Mr Offord in 2010 by just 106 votes.
The Liberal Democrat candidate in the constituency will be Alasdair Hill and for the Green Party, Ben Samuel, who both stood in the last election.
