A book exploring the connection between the history of Leeds Jews and Leeds United has been named Football Book of the Year.
The Promised Land: The Reinvention of Leeds United, by Mirror sports writer and Leeds fan Anthony Clavane was honoured at the British Sports Book Awards.
Born in Leeds, former History teacher Mr Clavane has worked at the Independent and Sunday Mirror, covering three Olympics ands two World Cups.
