MP Chris Williamson, who was suspended by Labour amid accusations he was a "Jew-baiter", has claimed he is being referred to the party's disciplinary body "for expulsion".
Mr Williamson, who was suspended in February for claiming the party was "too apologetic" about its antisemitism crisis, wrote on his Facebook on Tuesday that he faced being kicked out.
"In a total subversion of due process, Chris Williamson MP has been referred to the Labour Party’s National Constitutional Committee for expulsion," a statement on his official Facebook said.
"We understand this to be unlawful and against Labour’s rules. Legal action against the party machine is under way and a crowdfunder is coming soon to help meet costs."
He wrote: "Solidarity now would be appreciated."
Labour MP Neil Coyle replied: "Getting in the sea would very much appreciated."

He then clarified that he meant Mr Williamson was "a sh*t".
Apologies for any confusion. I wasn't suggesting for a second that you were a woman able to swim in the 1600s. For the avoidance of doubt, I just meant that you were a shit. Hope that clears things up. https://t.co/YDyV7F5vcG

Labour MP Rachel Reeves listed alternative uses for the money people might donate to a crowdfunder for Mr Williamson, then said: "Or you could help get someone the party has concluded brought us in to disrepute back in. Tough choices."
Think of all the useful things you could do with that money: supporting a local charity, taking your kids somewhere nice in the holidays, donating to Hope not Hate. Or you could help get someone the party has concluded has bought us in to disrepute back in. Tough choices. https://t.co/Ywyum5L9ty

The National Constitution Committee is Labour's highest disciplinary body and has the power to expel members.
Mr Williamson was briefly allowed to return to Labour in June but was then resuspended following an outcry.
He was branded a "Jew baiter" last December by then-Jewish Labour Movement chair Ivor Caplin, after Mr Williamson signed a petition in support of notorious antisemite Gilad Atzmon, for which he later apologised.
Mr Williamson was not suspended over the Atzmon petition, despite calls for it to happen.
