The wife of Israel's seventh prime minister has died at the age of 88.
Shulamit Shamir, who was born in Bulgaria in 1923, is survived by her husband Yitzhak.
He led Israel for two separate terms as prime minister, between 1983 and 1984 and between 1986 and 1992.
The Shamirs married in 1944 after meeting in the detention camp they had been placed in by the authorities in charge of British mandate Palestine. She later joined the Lehi underground movement and was involved in Israel's struggle for independence.
They had two children together.
Mrs Shamir, who died in Tel Aviv, was buried in Jerusalem on Sunday.
Israeli's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu described her as a "woman of principles" in an address to the cabinet on Sunday.
"She was an idealist, who stood at her husband's side throughout his life," he said. "She was always faithful to the principles of the Jewish people and the land of Israel."
