Ten people have been hospitalised after an Iranian missile struck the Israeli city of Beersheba.
The projectile hit a residential area of the city, the largest population centre in the Negev.
First responders from Magen David Adom have reported that nine people are in good condition, while a 35-year-old man, who was previously in serious condition, has now stabilised and his injuries are not considered life-threatening.
All of the wounded were taken to the Soroka Hospital for treatment.
Iran has been targeting Israeli civilian infrastructure, including residential buildings, since Israel and the US carried out strikes on the Islamic Republic on Saturday.
The Beersheba strike comes after at least nine people were killed by missile fire in Beit Shemesh.
A further 20 people are still unaccounted for, though the local mayor, Shmuel Greenberg, emphasised that “it does not necessarily mean anything happened to them”.
"It could very well be that we’re not finding them, but we are doing everything we can,” he told the press.
And a 40-year-old woman was killed and 21 people were injured in a strike on a Tel Aviv residential block on Saturday.
However, Israeli officials estimate that hundreds of Iranian missiles have been destroyed by bombing raids and air defence systems.
Their assessment is also understood to have concluded that the production of an additional 1,500 ballistic missiles was prevented by IDF operations and that half of Iran’s ballistic missile launchers have been taken out.
Around 1,200 bombs were dropped by Israel in the opening 24 hours of its joint operation with the US, with further attacks continuing through the weekend.
The IDF also said it had removed seven members of Iran’s security leadership as well as 40 senior commanders, including Chief of Staff Abdolrahim Mousavi.
Most significantly, though, Israeli strikes killed Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who had ruled over the Islamic Republic for almost 40 years.
It has since emerged that the operation was triggered by Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) sources pinpointing his location.
The critical breakthrough reportedly came from a CIA source reporting that a meeting of leading Islamic Republic officials was due to take place on Saturday morning, and that the supreme leader would be present nearby.
The US immediately shared the CIA intelligence report with Israel, saying the information was of “high fidelity” quality, according to the New York Times.
The two countries together decide to seize upon the window of opportunity and adjust their plans.
