The Rolling Stones have confirmed that they will perform in Israel for the first time ever, though a date and venue have not been finalised.

The Stones are the latest in a string of high=profile names to play Israel in the past year. Madonna, Paul McCartney and Depeche Mode have played concerts there, and Leonard Cohen is due to play in Israel on September 24.

The Stones influential Jewish manager Allen Klein passed away this week at his New York home after suffering from Alzheimer's disease.
