Soldier wounded in Ashkelon stabbing

An IDF soldier was stabbed and lightly wounded in Ashkelon on Sunday morning.

The attack happened near the city’s central bus station. The attacker was pursued by another soldier for around one mile before being shot by the soldier.

The stabbed soldier, 20, was taken to hospital with light wounds to the upper body, according to a Magen David Adom spokesperson.

The police said the assailant suffered moderate to serious wounds.
