An IDF soldier has been stabbed near a train station in Tel Aviv in what Israeli police are describing as a terror attack.

The soldier, who is 20 years old according to initial reports, was taken to Sheba Medical Centre, Tel Hashomer, in a critical condition.

The attacker was arrested after a struggle with police. He is reportedly a Palestinian from Nablus who entered Israel illegally.

Police tweeted: "From initial investigations it emerges that the incident was a terrorist knife attack.”
