Silvan Shalom accused of sexual harassment

articlemain

Seven women have claimed that Israeli Interior Minister Silvan Shalom sexually harassed them.

Some of those accusing Mr Shalom are former employees of the minister.

On Thursday, one of the women told Israel Radio that Mr Shalom had tried to forcibly kiss her and stick his tongue into her mouth. According to the unnamed woman, the incident occurred during a work meeting a number of years ago.

None of the women have filed a formal complaint to the police.

The first complaint against Mr Shalom was made last year , when a woman said he had exploited his position as her boss, over a decade ago, by asking her to perform oral sex on him.

However, because the statute of limitations had expired, Attorney General Yehuda Weinstein closed the investigation in May 2014.

Mr Shalom denies all the allegations
