Shimon Peres pulled out of a business event on Monday after complaining of feeling unwell.
According to Israeli journalist Niv Elis, the 91-year-old former Israeli president was taken to hospital for checks.
Mr Peres was due to speak at an event for start-up company KamaTech which brings Orthodox engineers into the Israeli high-tech sector.
Mr Elis tweeted: “Shimon Peres, who was supposed to speak, wasn’t feeling well.
“They said Peres had to go to hospital for check-ups, but they understand that he’s doing fine.”
Mr Peres is due to speak at a Zionist Federation fundraising event in London next month.
