British musician James Blake performed in Tel Aviv this weekend despite a concerted effort by anti-Israel campaigners for him to cancel the show.

Mr Blake, a runner-up in BBC's Sound of 2011 poll and a nominee for last year's Mercury Music Prize, was the latest target of the boycott, divestment and sanctions campaign against Israel.

Activists hounded him on Facebook and Twitter in the run-up to the gig, calling him to pull out.

But Mr Blake refused to give in and DJd at Tel Aviv's Block Club. The sold-out event was sponsored by the British Council.
