Four Israeli citizens have been arrested in the northern city of Karmiel on suspicion of conspiring to commit a terror attack against IDF troops.
The Shin Bet and Israel Police issued a joint statement on Monday, confirming that the group, all Arab-Israelis, had been arrested in recent weeks.
They identified two of the suspects as 19-year-old Ahmad Sarhan and 18-year-old Muhammad Khalil, while the other two are minors who cannot be named because of their age.
According to police, one of the group had previously expressed support for Islamic State.
The suspects are alleged to have undertaken firearms training as they “conspired to carry out serious action against security forces”.
The statement was accompanied by an image of a handgun, which police said they had recovered from one of the suspects’ homes.

All four are set to be indicted in the coming days, the statement concluded.
The arrests follow a number of high-profile cases in which Israeli citizens have been detained in connection with alleged terror or espionage plots.
Last month, two men, both in their twenties, were arrested on suspicion of spying for Iran and accused of accepting money in return for committing acts of espionage.
Investigators believe they were in direct contact with Iranian intelligence operatives and have allegedly traced several payments to digital wallets held by the suspects.
In the same week that those arrests were announced, Elimelech Stern, a 22-year-old yeshiva student from Beit Shamesh, was sentenced to three years behind bars for a similar offence.
Stern was convicted of carrying out several operations for Tehran, with the court noting that he was motivated by money and not ideology.
And a similar case last year saw an 18-year-old arrested on suspicion of accepting Iranian orders to collect intelligence on the security detail of former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett.
The suspect was arrested in April 2025 on suspicion of national security offences after allegedly collecting intelligence outside the Meir Medical Centre in Kfar Saba during the former premier's cardiac catheterisation operation.
Under instruction from his handlers, who were said to have been linked to "Iranian terror elements", the man is alleged to have conducted "a large number of different missions, while understanding that these could harm state security, all for the sake of financial gain”.
He was subsequently charged with contact with a foreign agent and providing information to the enemy with intent to harm state security.
