An Israeli man has requested to officially change his name to Henry William Phillip Charles Frederick Michael Louis George Edward Robert.

The ten names are all those of former British sovereigns and, according to Ynet, the man was inspired to apply for the name-change by the extensive coverage in Israel of Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding.

Officials in Israel's Population and Immigration Authority said they had never seen such an unusual application.

However they said the lengthy name would be misleading and urged the man to choose three of the ten choices instead.
