Israel’s security agencies have revealed what they describe as a covert global terror network run by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, tasked with targeting senior Israeli officials and strategic infrastructure worldwide.
The network’s activities spanned Europe, the Middle East, and the Caucasus. In Azerbaijan, authorities foiled a planned attack on the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline, alongside plots targeting Jewish institutions, including a synagogue and the Israeli embassy in Baku.
Suspects were arrested with explosive drones and other weapons, having conducted surveillance under Iranian direction. Further operations linked to the network included attempts to gather intelligence on Western military assets such as the Incirlik air base in Turkey, as well as efforts to smuggle weapons.
The joint statement from the Mossad, IDF, and Shin Bet said the network was significantly degraded during Israel’s recent military campaign, Operation Roaring Lion, which included air strikes that killed several of its senior figures.
Among those targeted were Rahman Mogadam, head of the IRGC’s clandestine Unit 4000, responsible for overseas terror operations, and Majid Khademi, who oversaw the wider intelligence apparatus.
Another key operative, Mohsen Suri, described as a central coordinator of global attacks, was also killed in an Israeli strike on a safe house identified through intelligence cooperation.
