While rockets and UAVs continue to be fired at communities in northern Israel Monday morning, IDF ground troops have surrounded Hezbollah's last stronghold in southern Lebanon.
It comes as negotiations between Israel and Lebanon's government are planned for tomorrow.
Five IDF units are involved in the operation in Bint Jbeil, where, according to the army's estimates, there are dozens of terrorists who fled to the area in the wake of recent fighting.
The IDF estimates that it will take several more days to complete the operation and cleanse the village, which has been used for rocket fire into Israel.
Troops on Sunday raided the area’s government hospital compound, where the IDF said Hezbollah operatives were conducting surveillance and using it for the transfer and storage of weapons, and firing on soldiers.
Since Hezbollah joined Iran’s war against Israel, the IDF says at least 1,100 terrorists have been killed.
The IDF is now considering placing permanent outposts around southern Lebanon to defend against the possible threat of an October 7 type attack on the north of Israel.
