Israel has intercepted a motor boat on the Dead Sea to stop two Palestinians who were transferring weapons.

According to the IDF spokespersons unit, a "weapons smuggling attempt" on a Palestinian boat was thwarted on Monday morning. The boat was on the way to Israel from Jordan,

They said the rubber-inflated vessel was carrying ten AK-47, ten magazines and approximately 300 matching bullets.

The incident was being treated as smuggling but not as a terrorist attack. The men were understood to be residents of the Jordan Valley and both in their 40s.
