Three Israelis were wounded on Sunday when a member of the Palestinian Authority security forces opened fire at an IDF checkpoint near Beit El in the West Bank. The attacker was shot dead by IDF forces.
Magen David Adom reported that two victims were in serious condition with wounds to the neck and thigh, respectively. The other was slightly hurt.
Palestinian reports named the shooter as Amjad Sakari, 35,saying he was a member of the Palestinian Authority security forces who was working as a bodyguard for the Ramallah district attorney.
The victims were treated at the scene by army medics and were evacuated to hospitals in Jerusalem for treatment.
“One of them is in serious condition with a gunshot wound to the upper body," MDA said. "Another is in serious condition with a gunshot wound to the extremities, and a third is [in] light [condition] with a gunshot wound to the extremities."
