The IDF has denied carrying out an airstrike in eastern Lebanon after reports emerged of a fatal explosion in the Beqaa Valley.
Lebanese state media reported early on Wednesday morning that one person had been killed and two others injured in an Israeli drone strike near al-Jabbour.
If confirmed, it would be the first strike in the northern regions of the country since a ceasefire was agreed between Israel and Hezbollah.
However, the IDF has denied involvement, telling the Times of Israel that it was not aware of any strikes in the area.
The truce was announced by US President Trump last week, but is set to expire on Sunday.
Israel and Lebanon's ambassadors are due to have a second round of direct negotiations on Thursday in Washington, the State Department confirmed earlier this week.
However, Hezbollah is not a party to the negotiations and has called on the Lebanese government to abandon them, as well as stating that it will refuse to give up its weapons under any future ceasefire deal.
It comes after Israel confirmed it had conducted limited strikes in parts of southern Lebanon, in response to what it said were Hezbollah’s violations of the ceasefire.
The IDF accused the terror group of launching rockets and drones at northern Israel and responded by hitting launch sites and eliminating several Hezbollah operatives, whom it said posed an imminent threat to the Jewish state.
