Jewish immigration to Israel from Western Europe has reached an all-time high according to figures released today.
The Jewish Agency revealed on Thursday that 9,880 Western European Jews made aliyah in 2015 – the highest number ever recorded.
And the vast majority – nearly 8,000 - came from France, a country that has been suffering from repeated antisemitic attacks.
Earlier this week, Jewish leaders in France debated the wisdom of wearing kippot in public after a violent attack in Marseille.
