Haim could become the first all-female band to win Best Rock Album at the 2026 Grammy Awards ceremony in Los Angeles tonight.
The band, comprised of Jewish sisters Alana, Danielle and Este Haim, already made history in November when they became the first all-female group to be nominated for the rock album prize for their 2025 album I Quit, and tonight the Haim sisters are poised to turn that nomination into a landmark win.
"We really set out to make a rock album this time, so it's a huge milestone," Alana Haim told the BBC after their nomination. "But we're just grateful for the women that came before us."
Haim was previously nominated for Best New Artist at the 2015 Grammy Awards and received nominations for Album of the Year (for Women in Music Pt. III) and Best Rock Performance (for The Steps) in 2021.
"I watch the nominations every year, so it kind of feels like The Truman Show when your name is read out," Alana told the BBC. "I had to call my sisters to say: 'Did I hear this right or am I hallucinating?'"
Jewish legend Barbra Streisand could also make history on Sunday night if she turns her nomination for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album for her duets album The Secret of Life: Partners, Volume 2 into a win, having lost in the category 13 times since it was introduced in 1992.
