The final batch of tickets for one of the major events of this autumn’s Balfour 100 celebrations are set to go on sale.
The historian Simon Schama will be giving a keynote lecture to mark the centenary of the signing of the Balfour Declaration, the historic document which signalled Britain’s support for a Jewish homeland in Palestine.
The talk will take place in central London on November 1.
The first block of tickets went on sale on September 6 and sold out within an hour.
This new batch, for 30 per cent of the venue's capacity, will be available from 6pm on Thursday, September 14, at http://www.balfour100.com
The lecture will also be livestreamed allowing thousands of people to watch. Such is the demand, organisers are considering setting up a livestream event at a venue in London.
More than 60 anniversary events have now been arranged across the country. The week-long celebrations start on October 29.
