Education Secretary Nicky Morgan has pledged the government’s commitment to faith schools at a meeting with Jewish leaders.
Representatives of the Board of Deputies, the Jewish Leadership Council and Partnerships for Jewish Schools discussed admissions policies, school security and Ofsted inspection standards among other matters.
In a statement after the meeting, Ms Morgan said that the government "absolutely has a commitment to faith schools, they are a very important part of the education landscape in this country, they contribute a huge amount and offer a good education. There are no plans to change our position on that.”
The Board said that the delegation was delighted at the productive nature of the meeting.
