One of the UK’s largest donors to Israeli charities has said she considers the country as she knew it to be “dead” and that “every step” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu takes “is a catastrophe.”

Dame Vivien Duffield, chair of the Clore Duffield foundation, talked of her “hate” at what has happened to the country in an interview with Israeli newspaper Ha’aretz, which appeared in the Hebrew language version of the paper.

She described the country’s new Nation State Law as “Apartheid. It is South Africa – one law for one group and another law for the other.”

“In truth, my Israel is dead,” she said. “Hate is a strong word, but I loathe what’s taking place in Israel.”
