A woman has launched an online appeal to find her missing boyfriend, who has not been seen for two days.
Emma Alter posted a message to her Facebook on Tuesday evening saying that her boyfriend Jonny Rothfield went missing early Monday morning, having left Stratford in east London with no phone and keys on him.
She had assumed he had left for work in Canary Wharf, where he works as a chef at a private dining company, and only became concerned when his boss phoned to say he had not turned up.
She added that “this is completely out of character” and asked friends and family “wherever you live, please, please re-post this for me.”
Mr Rothfield, 45, is originally from Sunderland and has lived in east London for 25 years. He was last seen wearing jeans, black boots and a hoodie.
According to Ms Alter, a musician, the two had shared “a nice weekend together”. His disappearance, she said, is “completely unlike him”.
Her cousin and friend of the couple David Alter added: “This is very unsettling. We’re hopeful and not jumping to any conclusions. We’re just keen to get any news we can.”
In less than a day, Ms Alter’s Facebook appeal had been shared more than 8,000 times. Police have confirmed they are looking for Mr Rothfield, and are producing missing posters to aid the search.
If you have any information on Mr Rothfield’s whereabouts, call the Missing Persons Bureau on 116 000 or call police on 101.
