There are some sweet additions to the latest edition of the Really Jewish Food Guide, produced by the London Beth Din kashrut division (KLBD).

The guide lists more than 8,000 items, 830 included for the first time.

Newly listed are three M&M’s products, the Chocolate 165g Bar, Crispy 150g Bar and Brownie. Other first timers include the Twix 99Kcal, Snickers Creamy Peanut Butter and Bendicks Mint Fondants.

For bread buyers, Warburtons Brown Premium and Danish Lighter Wholemeal are fresh to the guide. There are also a number of dairy-free and gluten-free products from supermarket brands such as Tesco, Asda and M&S.

Almost 2,500 of the items are KLBD certified.

KLBD director Rabbi Jeremy Conway paid tribute to “the rabbis and researchers and all those involved in this complex project, as well as the KLBD kashrut team.

“The recent past has been challenging for everyone and in particular for our dedicated shomrim and inspectors. We salute their dedicated work which has continued for many throughout the pandemic.”

The guide — available from kosher stores, Jewish bookshops and shuls — also includes 14 money-off vouchers for KLBD establishments. There is general information about food ingredients and additives, keeping kosher and Shabbat, kosher facilities around the UK and information for travellers.
