Israeli Ambassador Ron Prosor has told a Glasgow audience that regional communities should maintain active support for Israel.

Hosted by Glasgow Jewish Representative Council, his meeting was held at Giffnock and Newlands Synagogue and was attended lay leaders, rabbonim, students and representatives of Israel support groups.

Mr Prosor spoke for an hour and then took questions on a wide range of issues. A spokesperson said: "The ambassador urged the community to do as much as they could for Israel. The fight for Israel needs to start with the regional communities and they need to continue to punch above their weight. This grassroots support is the front-line."
