Rabbi to serve Reform, Liberal and Masorti shuls

The pioneering Mosaic community, where three congregations share premises, appoints Anna Posner as development rabbi

In a ground-breaking move, the Mosaic community of Reform, Liberal and Masorti congregations has appointed Rabbi Anna Posner as development rabbi.

Joining full-time in January, she will work across the three shuls, helping to promote Mosaic’s mission to “choose your Jewish life”. One quarter of her time will be spent alongside Rabbi Rachel Benjamin leading Mosaic Liberal.

Ordained last summer, Rabbi Posner has served both the Beit Klal Yisrael and Norwich Liberal congregations, and also as a Progressive students’ chaplain. She lives with her fiancée (soon to be wife) and two dogs.

“I’m very excited to join this community and be part of their new journey in a new building [under construction in Stanmore],” she said. “I am looking forward to working with my rabbinic colleagues, facilitating creative community spaces and being part of the wider Stanmore community.”

Mosaic co-chair Mark Phillips said its priority was to provide “a diverse range of ways to engage with Judaism. Anna’s skills make her perfectly placed to move us in this direction.”
