Since tents were put away after the last Limmud in the Woods two years ago, there has been a gap in the Jewish market for outdoor summer events.

Now a group of Limmud in the Woods devotees have come up with Nomads in a Field, which will be held near London over the August Bank Holiday.

Madeline Young, one of the festival’s directors, said she had been “devastated” at the loss of the summer Limmud.

“Camping is a reminder of the natural world. There is something special about it and we as a people have been nomadic for thousands of years.”
