The first graduate of a pioneering UK course to train dayanim has been appointed as the new rabbi of the Lauderdale Road Synagogue in Maida Vale.
Dayan Daniel Kada and his wife Tamar will join the Sephardi congregation in mid-April after almost seven years with the Wembley Sephardi community.
The Lauderdale Road leadership is looking to the couple “to build on the tremendous contribution of Rabbi Israel Elia. We will welcome a new rabbi and rabbanit at Lauderdale Road for the first time in decades.
“Dayan Kada, Tamar and their girls are very excited to join a community with such a rich history and have innovative plans to develop our community of all ages.”
Members would have the opportunity to hear the Kadas share their plans at a Zoom meeting shortly after Pesach.
Dayan Kada graduated from the programme launched by the Montefiore Endowment and the Eretz Hemdah Institute for Advanced Jewish Studies.
