Leeds Jewish Welfare Board has been recognised for "developing community spirit and individual leadership" with a Duke of York Community Initiative award.

LJWB runs welfare services including Rainbow for those with learning disabilities, the Blind Society and Neshama for mental health issues.

Chief executive Rebecca Weinberg said: "Being awarded the Duke of York Community Initiative is a fantastic achievement and a real honour for us. We are very proud of the work that we do in the community and this award is a marvellous seal of approval for the organisation."

LJWB will receive the award at a ceremony hosted by Prince Andrew later this year.
