The Latte Lounge, the lifestyle Facebook group that offers "top tips for women over 40", is celebrating its second anniversary and new website with a charity spa day.

It was founded in 2016 as a Facebook group by Katie Taylor, who thought women aged 40 to 65 needed a safe, relaxed place to discuss day-to-day issues. The group has since attracted 12,000 members.

On July 12, it will officially launch the new website with an event in aid of Cancer Research at the Laboratory Health Club and Spa, in Mill Hill.

‘Live Latte Lounge’ will be from 1pm to 6pm and feature classes, treatments and fizz and lattes. There will be a Q&A with all their bloggers and a medical panel will be there.

Andrea McLean, co-presenter of ITV's Loose Women, will be there signing copies of her new book.

Mrs Taylor said: “It has been a year in the making and a real labour of love for me.

"It seemed like a very natural extension to the Facebook group and I feel, over time, it will almost become a necessity for members, many of whom come to us anonymously with very troubling problems."

She wants the site to become “the go-to place for all midlife women”. It has more than 25 bloggers, who write on topics from health to fashion.

The event will also be in aid of Cancer Research.

Mrs Taylor added: “The long term goal of the business will be to use some of the profits to fund a group of scientists to [further research] and find a cure for breast and gynaecological cancers”.

Entry to the event is £15. Click here for information on how to book and what the price includes.
