Tributes have been paid to the "lasting legacy" of jLiving chief executive June Morton, who has died after a short illness.

Ms Morton joined the housing association in 2015, having worked in the social housing field in various capacities, including nine years as director of housing services for Tower Hamlets Council.

The South-East Londoner had a successful track record in delivering regeneration and redevelopment projects.

At jLiving, she made "a passionate contribution", the association's chair, Adam Gamsu said. "She leaves a lasting legacy and will be remembered for being instrumental in our programme of works to upgrade and modernise our buildings."

Adding her tribute, acting jLiving CEO Jane Goodman said that "everyone who knew June and worked alongside her will remember her with great affection.

"You don’t come across many people with such a large personality and great sense of humour who enjoy life to the full. When you do, they leave a lasting impression. Our thoughts are with her family and friends.”
