OUTBREAK

Langdon has postponed its annual dinner because of the coronavirus outbreak.

In a letter to supporters of the charity – which helps those with mild to moderate learning difficulties to lead independent lives – Langdon chairman Nigel Henry wrote that “in light of the of the ongoing developments, Langdon directors and board of trustees have made the decision to postpone the annual dinner due to take place on May 18.

“The health and wellbeing of our members, their families and our donors – some of whom are more vulnerable than others – is paramount. We as an organisation are doing everything we can to minimise the risk of infection.”

Langdon now plans to hold the dinner in October.

A growing number of communal events are being put back or cancelled because of fears over the virus.
