Jewish Care job cuts

articlemain

Thirteen Jewish Care employees are being made redundant following a six-week consultation process.

The charity announced in January that up to 22 jobs could go at its Merit House, Colindale, headquarters as part of a bid to slash £2.5 million off its budget.

Redundancies have been made across the administrative spectrum in departments such as human resources, marketing and fundraising.

“This has clearly been a very difficult time for everyone at Merit House,” said chief executive Simon Morris. “We, like everyone else, are facing a challenging year ahead and needed to make these changes to help deliver a balanced budget.

“By planning ahead and reducing our expenditure, we will best protect the services we provide to the more vulnerable members of the community.”

Seven staff have also been redeployed after the job review, which has contributed the bulk of an estimated £1 million savings at Merit House.
