Salted Caramel Twix, three flavours of M&M’s and Warburtons’ Gluten Free Toastie are among new additions in the latest edition of The Really Jewish Food Guide, which was published this week.
It lists more than 8,300 products which can be found in supermarkets and health shops, 634 of which are included for the first time. In addition, the range of KLBD-certified products continues to expand, with some 2,500 now listed — the largest ever number.
The newly-certified M&M’s varieties are biscuit, crunchy caramel and salted caramel. Other newcomers include Penderyn Welsh whiskies and ranges of low-calorie rice substitutes, spices and dairy-free drinks.
Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis welcomed the new edition, saying the guide had become “an indispensable feature of Jewish life within our homes.
“KLBD’s high standards have been impressively maintained throughout the pandemic, during which there has been added pressure to give real-time guidance to kosher consumers and in-person supervision has been exceptionally challenging to provide.”
KLBD director Rabbi Jeremy Conway offered “profound thanks and appreciation” to the rabbis and researchers involved in the project.
The guide also contains candle-lighting times, details of the London eruvs maintained by KLBD and general kashrut information, plus vouchers to use in KLBD-licensed shops and restaurants.
It costs £9.95 and purchasing details can be found at www.kosher.org.uk/guide.
