articlemain

The Board of Deputies has reported 49 UK Jewish burials relating to coronavirus during the week ending January 15. The number is a rise of six on the previous week, which the Board described as "the deadliest for the Jewish community since April".

The Board works with communal burial boards, regional Jewish communities and the Jewish Small Communities Network to collate the figures. There have now been 740 UK Jewish funerals where the deceased contracted Covid-19.

It wished bereaved families a long life, "and pray that the memory of their loved ones should be for a blessing".
