High end fashion companies including Prada have donated valuable items to a Jewish group raising money for famine relief efforts in East Africa.

The Closet Den committee, who earlier this year raised more than £12,000 for the Bet Hayeled foster home in northern Israel, are hoping to raise at least £5,000 this week for World Jewish Relief's appeal .

They've assembled a collection of luxury goods donated by designers, including a Prada bag which sells at £940 and a white Smythson bag worth £750. Other goodies include a Stella McCartney bag, a complete set of Mr & Mrs Smith Travel Books and a £150 voucher for dinner at Asia De Cuba.

The ten prizes are up for auction online until Monday. Bids start at just £5, while £35 gives you ten chances of winning one of the items and is enough to feed five children a high energy meal at school for a six month period.
