Bargain hunting fashionistas helped to raise nearly £11,000 for a foster home in northern Israel at a designer clothes and accessories sale organised by the MyIsrael youth committee.

A predominantly female crowd of 250 waited expectantly at the doors of Camden's Proud Galleries for the Closet Den event, featuring dresses by Erdem and Chloe, shoes by Jimmy Choo and Christian Louboutin, as well as some of the current handbags of choice.

Popular picks included jewellery by Israeli designer Dana Levy, Acne jeans and Halston cocktail dresses, as well as high-priced beauty products by Laura Mercier and Bobbi Brown.

The raffle winner walked away with this year's must-have bag, the Mulberry Tillie, worth more than £1,000.
