Belmont Synagogue's eruv extension has been completed and gone live. The extension connects the shul and the surrounding Stanmore areas with Edgware. 

The religious boundary - enabling Orthodox Jews to carry certain items on Shabbat - now extends beyond Canons Park station to just before the traffic lights at the end of Whitchurch Lane.

The extension has brought hundreds more flats and houses into the eruv area. The shul says many of them are at the more affordable end of the local housing market.

People may now access the Edgware eruv by going through Montgomery Road and into Cavendish Drive. It also opens up all entrances to Canons Park, which is now within the eruv.

Belmont eruv chair Anthony Broza said: “It is a real pleasure to see the completion of this eruv project as it opens up greater inclusivity and accessibility to one and all for Shabbat observance.”
