World Jewish Relief has gone upmarket in its latest fundraising initiative, encouraging supporters having a wardrobe clear-out to donate designer clothes, accessories and shoes.

The humanitarian aid charity marked the launch of its Designer Goods Collection by inviting young supporters Tammy Perl, Kimberley Ilsen and Alon Freibeger to style outfits from the donated clothes, which will be sold on from a boutique at its Neasden warehouse.

Funds raised will go towards its Founding Futures project, providing training and education to single mothers in Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union. This helps them to develop the skills and confidence to secure employment and a sustainable source of income.

Ms Ilsen was impressed by “the amazing items people have chosen to donate to such a great cause — a variety of clothes from vintage to modern designers. I am definitely going to go home and have a clear out of my cupboard.”
