Twenty daring volunteers leapt out of a plane to raise £24,000 for a charity helping disadvantaged Jewish teenage boys.

Ari Leaman of the Boys' Clubhouse in Hendon said participants in the Cambridgeshire skydive included staff, former service users and friends.

Proceeds will go towards providing an activity and training service for around 50 youngsters dealing with drug addiction, homelessness and unemployment.

The skydive is part of Mr Leaman's plans to raise the profile of the charity. "We had double the expected amount of people sign up, which was brilliant. All our families and boys who use the service came along to support us. It's absolutely crazy to fly up so high and then just open the door and leap out. But it was an amazing experience."
