North-West Londoner Maya Levy has extended her support for Camp Simcha’s toy drive into her workplace.
For the past five years, Ms Levy, 27, has made a toy drive collection for the charity’s annual distribution of gifts to children of all denominations in hospital over the festive period.
Now her bosses at insurance company YuLife have come on board, donating a gift for each of the firm’s 115 employees.
Ms Levy said her efforts also honoured the memory of her friend Daniella Moffson, who died in a bus crash in 2016 while volunteering in Honduras during her holidays.
American-born Ms Moffson was training to be a paediatrician and had volunteered for Camp Simcha’s sister organisation in the States.
“Daniella spent her life giving to others and through the toy drive and other charitable initiatives, we have been able to continue her incredible legacy.
“Buying a toy online is so simple but it brings so much joy to the children who receive them, just as Daniella brought joy to all those who met her,” Ms Levy added.
YuLife founder and CEO Sammy Rubin said the firm was “thrilled to support such an important initiative by one of our employees and be part of a meaningful and worthwhile cause”.
Camp Simcha will be distributing some 10,000 gifts in hospitals and hospices throughout London, Hertfordshire, Essex and Manchester.
