Informal education network Aish UK raised £2.5 million in 30 hours in a matched fundraising campaign this week.
The total exceeded the £2.2 million target, thanks to the efforts of 171 fundraising teams and a group of generous benefactors who committed to double every donation received.
More than 4,500 individual donations were received, including one of £30,000.
Aish UK has been connecting young Jews to their culture and heritage for almost three decades, pursuing its activities online during the pandemic.
It works with 27 schools, 19 universities and 22 communities nationwide and proceeds from the crowdfunder will support in-person education and experiences and social events, as well as virtual connections.
