A welcome boundary as London's latest eruv goes live

Brondesbury Park eruv also covers Cricklewood, Willesden and Kensal Rise

The Brondesbury Park Synagogue eruv is finally up and running, five years after receiving planning consent.

With boundaries covering Cricklewood, Willesden, Brondesbury Park and Kensal Rise up to Finchley Road, the religious boundary was launched with a low key “eruv chatzerot” ceremony by Rabbi Baruch Levin and eldest son Meir outside their home.

Rabbi Levin shared a video of proceedings in a WhatsApp message ahead of Shabbat.

He presented his son with matzah, symbolising “that all of us contained within the boundary are able to share our food, food being the stuff that brings people together, particularly on Shabbat.

‘’The making of this eruv will allow all the residents who live within its boundaries to come together and carry from one domain to another.”

Proposals for the eruv were originally submitted in 2014 and were approved by Camden Council’s development control committee the following year.
