Charges against high-profile former prisoners dropped

Claire Silverstone and David Bright will no longer face legal action over allegations they breached court orders

Legal cases against two high-profile ex-prisoners have been dropped by prosecutors at the last minute.

Claire Silverstone and David Bright were imprisoned in 2016 for perverting the course of justice, and were released in 2018 and 2017, respectively.

Silverstone was also jailed for a synagogue bomb hoax.

They were due in court on Friday August 16 on charges of breaching court orders – relating to contacting Jason Werth.

But Westminster Magistrates’ Court was told that the cases against Bright and Silverstone were discontinued.
