Celtic football club has been fined 10,000 Euros (£8,600) by European football’s governing body Uefa after fans flew Palestinian flags before and during the Glasgow side’s match against Hapoel Be’er Sheva last month.
Uefa had warned prior to the Champions League qualifier that the club could face sanctions if flags were displayed by protesters inside Celtic Park.
Celtic had previously been fined for a similar offence in 2014.
At a disciplinary hearing on Wednesday, Uefa said the Palestinian flags were flown as “illicit banners” and found the club guilty under article 16 of its disciplinary regulations.
