Boycott busters will help the homeless

Winston Pickett, of Sussex Friends of Israel, one of the organising groups, said it was the first time the event had been “promoted on a co-ordinated worldwide level. He added: “The day of action addresses two real problems, hunger and anti-Israel campaigning, often in the form of boycotts. But most importantly it provides people with a way to show their support for Israel by doing something practical that will help those in need immediately.”

In the UK, grassroots Friends of Israel groups are organising local community centres and shuls to act as drop-off points and distribution centres for donated products.
