BBC’s former diversity manager shares antisemitic conspiracy theories and Nazi terminology

The “diversity” expert reposted a message on X – written in response to a post by an anti-Israel activist – saying he “isn’t the first person to blame the Zionist Jews for 9/11. I’ve heard tons of people, mostly American, speak on who is responsible for 9/11. The ADL is targeting him because of his pro-Palestine stance and anti-genocide stances and nothing else.”

Caro’s LinkedIn account shows that she currently works as a diversity and media consultant.

Her most recent work for the BBC – as a freelance consultant – was as diversity adviser for the Cbeebies series My World Kitchen in 2018, for which she provided information and insight into how to source contributors from a range of different cultural and ethnic backgrounds. 

Her freelance consultancy work includes advising the Thomson Foundation, which champions ethical and reliable communication and information in journalism and media. 

Following the Grenfell Tower fire in June 2017, which killed 70 people in the residential block in North Kensington, Caro worked in a voluntary role as campaign coordinator for Justice4Grenfell.

Caro held posts as the diversity and inclusion manager for the London university SOAS from 2015 to 2017, and lectured for more than four years from 2012 to 2016 on the University of Westminster’s MA course, Media and Diversity, for which she devised the module Reporting Gender, Disability, Age & Sexuality.

When contacted by the JC, Caro said, “I made an error. I was interested in the article, and didn't see the comment when I reposted it. I deleted it as soon as I did.

“Judaism is 3000+ years old, Zionism is approximately 150 years old, it was born in Europe and developed by an Atheist. It's a white supremacist, colonial rightwing political ideology, not a religion despite all the claims to the contrary. Not all Jews are Zionists. Not all Zionists are Jews. Calling Jews who oppose Zionism, who oppose the genocide, antisemites, is pathetic.”
