The victims of a paedophile teacher at Carmel College are planning on seeking compensation for the suffering they endured.
Four former pupils at the now defunct Jewish boarding school in Oxfordshire are hoping to bring a case against the school's insurance company, as the educational establishment no longer exists.
In 2015 retired teacher Trevor Bolton was jailed for 19 years for a string of sex offences he committed against boys at the Jewish school in Wallingford, Oxfordshire, between the 1960s and the late 1980s.
The pensioner committed his crimes as a junior housemaster at the school - dubbed the Jewish Eton - preying on eight boys aged between 11 and 15.
Andrew Grove, the solicitor acting for the four victims, said he is "extremely optimistic" about the chances of success.
One of the former pupils bringing the case said: "My life has been an absolute nightmare because of the five-and-a-half years of very serious abuse that I suffered at the hands of that monster.
"It's taken 40 years to get this far because nobody took the allegations seriously at the time."I don't care how long it takes - somebody has to pay for what happened."
